Some stories begin with a thread.
Some are woven into the fabric.

For decades, selvedge denim has carried a story of craftsmanship, tradition, and attention to detail. That distinctive edge is more than a finishing detail, it is part of denim’s heritage.

At Gamatex, our relationship with denim goes back to 1981.

Through generations of denim-making, we continue to preserve techniques and machinery that give our fabrics their own character. Our selvedge denim is woven on vintage Toyoda GH-9 looms, machines from another era, producing a texture and character that modern production cannot simply replicate.

The result is not just a piece of fabric.
It is a piece of history, woven into every edge.

A CLASSIC THAT NEVER REALLY LEFT

Long before it became a fashion statement, herringbone was valued for its strength, structure, and distinctive zigzag character.
Its name comes from the pattern’s resemblance to the bones of a herring fish. The alternating twill direction creates that iconic V-shaped rhythm, a simple construction with a remarkably recognizable identity.

From military uniforms and workwear to tailoring and contemporary fashion, herringbone has continued to move between function and style.

Now, we bring that heritage into denim. Herringbone Denim combines the authentic character of denim with a distinctive directional weave, creating added texture, depth, and a different expression of indigo.
