The garden of Versailles, a vast garden known for its meticulously sculpted lawns and beautiful beds of flowers. Sebastian Gunawan and Cristina Panarese have now captured its beauty in the form of the SEBASTIANred Spring/Summer 2016 collection. Various flowers, such as peony, wallflowers, daffodils and sweet williams are graced in their designs of more than thirty looks.

Just like the warmth of the season, bright colours are brought in its muted form. Buttercup yellow, chartreuse green, coral pink and cerulean blue are harmonised together with classic elegance of black and white. While the fabrics of choice are luxurious jacquard, duchess satin, silk chiffon and lace. Voluminous silhouettes dominate the collection with fitted bodice matched with A-line, tulip or asymmetrical skirts. Beading embellishment, being a signature detailing of SEBASTIANred makes an expected appearance and as if the garden itself comes to life, tri-dimensional embroidery is applied.

“A Lady’s Portrait” is inspired by a divine aristocrat with a sense of fashion, Marie Antoniette, Queen of France. In reviving her spirit into the present, the latest collection of SEBASTIANred and SEBASTIANsposa have crafted a fusion of vintage and modern fashion style from the 18th and 19th century.

Sculpting silhouettes of panniers and robe à la Française draping combine with style from the 50s, 60s, and 70s: A-line, mod-look, and high-low cutting with décolletage, plunge necklines, enhance feminine figure. Subtle yet lavish fashion is expressed with various fabrics of jacquard, damask, lace and brocade in delightful pastel colors, white, black, red, gold, and royal blue. Detail embellishments, made of embroideries and Swarovski crystals beadings, exemplify a prestige appearance. It has always been an aspiration for both designers, Sebastian Gunawan and Cristina Panarese, to evoke a feeling of “la beauté c'est moi,” beautiful is me, through fashion.

The grandeur and majestic architecture of Renaissance era, La Basilica, has inspired SEBASTIANred Spring/Summer 2015 collection. La Basilica frame is reflected in elegance and feminine silhouettes which enhance the distinct characters of modern era ladies. The opulence of artistic architecture details have been crafted into fashion through the embellishments of crystals and gold thread of classic embroidery on fascinated textile: jacquard, brocade, and taffeta which immaculate luxurious appearance for celebrations. Furthermore, the florescence of flowers, symbolize natural beauty have applied through an array of splendid colors: black, red, indigo, and orange defines a brilliant yet delicate characters of sophisticated ladies.

SebastianRed presents a collection that evokes an era that is revered for its great minds, creativity, and triumphs -- a golden era. From opulent pearls adorning rich shades of blue to lavish golden glimmers upon the sumptuous surfaces of damask and jacquard, a royal palette comes to life in sophisticated silhouettes. Alluding to the women of the Tudor dynasty, conical bustier cuts meet square necklines, punctuated with a stately brooch and tromp l’oeil necklace. Pearls delicately embellish a net patterned cape, gracing the figure with a sublime flair reminiscent of a majestic epoch.
