It was lovely to take part in the familiarisation trip hosted by Carlow Tourism today. The event provides members of Carlow Tourism with an opportunity to visit places in County Carlow. We had a really interesting visit with Mary and Robert from Blackstairs Eco Trails, then on to St Mullins for a lovely lunch at Mullichain cafe and a visit to St Lazarians Cathedral in Old Leighlin. Carlow certainly has hidden gems - worthy of exploring! Thanks to Eileen and all the team for a wonderful trip.

Delighted to travel to Greece with Borris Lacemakers and showcase the beautiful craft

Borris Lacemakers are proud to announce that four of our members are heading to Greece on 2nd June 2026, as part of the Craft Work iniative, supported by the Local Enterprise Office Carlow where our lacemakers will facilitate two workshops. This Greek Connection celebrates the historical legacy of Lady Harriet McMorrough Kavanagh who founded the industry in the mid 1840s. Inspired by the old Greek Lace and other Italian style lace samples collected on her travels, Lady Harriet created a unique Irish Tape Lace that is returning to its Mediterranean roots. Looking forward to sharing our journey with you
