Spring is here! Happy April all!✨🙌🌱
I decided to share my sustainability journey today with you. I’m still in the process of adapting to more sustainable way of living but I’m also a big believer that every little helps.

I always loved clothes and was playing dress up since I was little. My first earned money during summer job while in high school were spent on clothes. I loved going through my moms wardrobe and trying things out. My Mom is one of those people with natural effortless style and great eye for details. Always stylish and chic. So it shouldn’t be a surprise where I got my love for fashion. I remember first shopping in Zara and HM when they arrived to my country. It was a very special treat. Fast forward to past college time during which I had a second hand phase shopping stage - which never really worked for me. And next having extra money and time to shop. It got out of hand at times, I was buying too much without thinking about quality. However there were immediate lessons - I remember buying a top in hm and having it thrown out after one wash as it was not wearable.

It wasn’t until I had my first baby when I started to reflect on the impact of the fashion industry on our environment. And of course on my bank account. Once you realise the mechanism behind the fashion it really opens your eyes. Soon after Rana Plaza tragedy happened exposing terrible conditions of sweatshop workers and everyone had a chance to read about the dirty truth behind cheap clothes sold in masses around the world.

I started to educate myself- reading about the quality of fabrics and what are the best choices for the planet and for us.

I looked at my wants and needs and tried to invest in better quality. But most importantly I realised that I don’t need that much stuff.

As the years passed I realised that I want to turn my passion into something positive and soon after I had my baby no3. I came up with idea for NUIT. I knew it will be done on my terms - ethically and from natural and certified fabrics.

Sustainable tip of the month - it’s a good month to take a closer look at your wardrobe. Do a Marie Kondo, check what you still love and brings you joy, what can be put aside for colder months and what are you getting rid of. It will make you aware of what you have and if you want to get something new for spring you can identify what’s missing and what’s in your wish list.

Personally, I’m trying to be very conscious and aware and of my needs/wants to make better decisions for the future. ✨
