RIP to an amazing Irish designer and decent human.
Nicky Wallace.

I remember regularly meeting Nicky on the social scene in Dublin in the mid 1990s. I was young but we had much in common with my family business back ground. He was an amazing fashion designer, we had much to talk about always. He was dating Gayle Killilea, Everyone who dated (up coming Journo) Gayle at that time became quite the couple around town, good, bad but never indifferent …. even, perhaps, the talk of the town. He had designed clothes for various top footballers, and had shows in Milan, New York and Paris. The famous Miami Vice suits I’m very sure were his creations and Nicky created Johnny Logan's famous white suit which he wore when he scooped his second Eurovision Song Contest with Hold Me Now.
The 1987 one (now on display in the ABBA Museum in Sweden) was snappier and snazzier than its 1980's Osmond-esque rival. It had a cropped jacket and tapered pants. Nickys design flair screaming out.

Legend has it that if you touch the sleeve,Johnny is teleported into room each night and performs the song for you … at your peril ladies.😂
