🍂 TIME TO GET YOUR WARDROBE READY FOR AUTUMN 🍂 👕👖👗 🍁
The temperatures are dropping here in Ireland, the evenings are getting much cooler!
So, is it time to pack away your Summer wardrobe? Not quite...!
One of the biggest mistakes I see is putting away too many clothes too soon, then having to shop for more.
My advice? Think layers. Or, as an Italian friend said to me: “In Ireland, you have to dress like an onion!” 🧅👚😅
And she wasn't wrong! At this time of year, the temperature can change alot from morning to afternoon to evening so having layers you can add or remove is the key to dressing comfortably and stylishly.
🍂 WHAT I WOULD KEEP OUT TO WEAR
🤍 T-shirts
Perfect with jeans and trousers/skirts under blazers, cardigans, jackets and coats. For extra warmth just pop a n**e coloured cotton vest/cami underneath.
🤎 Cream, beige lightweight trousers
These can look beautiful with autumnal shades such as chocolate, burgundy, navy, blue, olive and camel.
💙 Blue shirts
A fantastic transitional piece. Wear with jeans, tailored trousers, knitwear or under a blazer.
🧶 Lightweight sweaters/cardis and fine knits
Ideal for layering without feeling too bulky.
🧥 Your Summer trench coat
Probably one of the most useful pieces in your wardrobe right now, especially for our Irish rain and goes great with all the above! You don't necessarily need your thick quilted coat yet.
🧣 Lightweight scarves
A scarf around the neck can instantly make a summer outfit feel more autumnal and stylish while keeping you cosy.
👖 Jeans and denim shirts/jackets
Perfect with everything from a T-shirt and blazer to a chunky knit and ankle boots or runners.
👗 Darker coloured Summer dresses
Don't put them away yet! Just add a cardigan, blazer or lightweight knit and wear with light boots or runners.
👟 Light Coloured Runners and Nude/Tan shoes
Still a great transitional option with jeans, trousers at this time.
So before you put everything away, ask yourself: "Could I layer this?” You'll find that some of your Summer wardrobe still has plenty of life left yet! 🍂
