💜 Bringing Magic to Special Children! 📚✨
Yesterday, I was absolutely delighted & honoured to visit St. Teresa’s Special School in Ballinasloe to donate a copy of Daddy’s Birthday Surprise! on behalf of its wonderful authors, Fiona Breheny & Saoirse Gill. 💕
☀️ As you can see, the sun was shining for my visit! 💛
A huge thank you to Deputy Principal Nicola Allen & Principal Kieran Stenson for their incredibly warm welcome. Nicola kindly gave me a tour of the entire school, where I met the wonderful students, teachers, SNAs, nurses & staff.
From the classrooms & sensory rooms to the playground, it was so lovely to see the care, dedication & thought that goes into creating an environment where every child is supported to learn, grow & reach their fullest potential. I even got to see a fantastic music class in action! 🎶🎹
With Halloween just around the corner, the school had gone all out with decorations, with plenty of Halloween fun & excitement happening throughout the day! 🎃👻
It was truly wonderful to see firsthand the nurturing, inclusive and caring community that St. Teresa’s provides for its pupils. I left feeling so grateful to have been welcomed in & to have met so many incredible people. 🥰
Beautifully written, illustrated & created by Fiona Breheny 🇨🇮 Fiona Breheny & Saoirse Gill, Daddy’s Birthday Surprise! gently opens up conversations about additional needs, inclusion, kindness, family & helping one another.
As a nurse & mum, I believe every child deserves to feel seen, valued & celebrated for exactly who they are. 💕
🌸 “Every child is a different kind of flower, and all together make this world a beautiful garden.”
Thank you again to everyone at St. Teresa’s Special School for such a memorable visit. It was a real privilege to share this special book with your school. ❤️
If you know a school or organisation that might benefit from this beautiful book, I’d love to hear from you! You can find the book, teacher resources & a read-aloud on Fiona’s website www.fionabreheny.com
Here’s to helping every child feel seen, included & celebrated for exactly who they are. 🌸✨
