๐Ÿ’•Sunday Morning Fun๐Ÿ’•
Lately I have really bought into the coloring book craze. I find it very relaxing and therapeutic to curl up and colour some beautiful images. I have built up a nice collection of colouring books and recently invested in a new set of colouring pencils. Being a tad OCD, I hated the idea of the pencil box rattling around and becoming tattered in my handbag so this morning I decided to make a pencil roll out of some fabric scraps in the studio. I must say, I'm delighted with how it has turned out and can't wait to take my colouring out and about with me. I may look at making a few more for my Etsy shop ๐Ÿ’

1,600 squares and 10 months later I have finally finished the centre panel for my biggest quilt to date. Yeah that's right 1,600 individual 2.5inch squares all sewn together, I thought I would never get to the end of it. Time to work on the border now and hopefully get it finished some time in 2017

My trusty overlocker has finally given up the ghost! It has served me well though, mum bought the machine for me in Aldi for โ‚ฌ70 just over 10 years ago. It has been pulled apart and put back together so many times but alas it is no more. So where other people like to treat themselves to a new phone or laptop, it's like Christmas morning for me when I get my hands on a new sewing machine. I can't wait to try out the Brother 1034D and see what it can do ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜

It was experimentation time in the studio tonight! I picked up some water dissoluble fabric recently and thought is would be a great for making some lace effect Christmas decorations. I used my embroidery machine to stitch a snowflake design onto the fabric, dissolved it in water and was delighted that I ended up with a beautiful lace snowflake. I think I may have found a new product for this years craft fairs :)

Its been a while since I have posted anything so I thought I would share a personalised quilt I made recently for a beautiful baby girl. I'm going to call it my 'Cheeky Monkey' Quilt.

Every so often between various commissions and alteration work I like to sneek in little projects for myself. I found this lovely striped cotton in Dublin a couple of weeks ago and couldn't help myself. A simple design for a casual summer dress with box pleats on the skirt and an exposed zip in the back was perfect for this fabric.

So happy that I finally get to share the photo below with you. I had the pleasure of reconstructing a vintage wedding dress for a beautiful bride Roxanne who got married in Spain last week. The detail and beadwork on the dress was exquisite, it was definitely a challenge but one I thoroughly enjoyed. Congratulations and best wishes to Brian and Roxanne, I hope you have many happy and healthy years ahead of you xx
