Self Help Africa - Limerick City Retail Charity Store Based in Dublin, Gorta is Ireland’s longest established not-for-profit development agency and was set up in 1965.

Our focus has always remained on long term sustainable projects which we complete with partner organisations on the ground in our target countries. Building on these 50 years of experience, at Gorta, we have evolved from our earlier agricultural-based model to a more comprehensive approach to modern development. This includes maximising the potential of these hard-pressed communities through skills exchange and the encouragement of innovation and entrepreneurship.
