Really enjoying working with this bright, BRIGHT red cotton! In its previous life, it was a set of napkins and a tablecloth in a sunny French dining room, so a little bit of a dye job was needed to even out some faded patches. The demask border is fun to work into designs, and I love how well the fabric does what you ask it to, especially with some steaming and pressing. Bought in

French seams on right angles are the sort of thing you do once in college for an assessment and then never expect to do again, like writing to an imaginary penpal about a recent referendum as gaeilge. This went much better than that would have.

Drum roll please for my new logo! If you know me it might already look familiar 😆 Some more exciting news - got my domain name and a temporary site today!!! Just a home page for now but one step closer to putting my first collection out into the world...And I ordered business cards, which are apparently still a thing! Figuring out my very own sizing chart today! Even dug out the old Winnie Aldrich textbook for some details. Most items are going to be one-offs, but I really want to cover as many sizes as possible, with adjustable and adaptable features. And making each pattern from an individual block means I can avoid annoying mass production problems like weirdly long sleeves and upper arms that pinch when you drive.... Takes extra time and effort but definitely worth it I think! Let me know what bothers you regarding size and fit when you're shopping please! (The market research never ends 😅)
