Sorry about the state of me.
Sorry, I have put on a bit of weight.
Sorry, I do not even really know what size I am anymore.

And I am standing there thinking, oh myyyy, we are going to learn so much today!

I see this all the time.
Women come in almost ready to explain themselves to me before we have even looked at one item of clothing.

And I always think, God, we have really taught women to believe they need to explain themselves before they are allowed to talk about clothes.
Meanwhile I am thinking, right, I know what I want to try on you first.

The really useful bit comes afterwards. Looking at what is pulling, where something is ending, what proportions are happening, whether the garment is actually doing what we need it to do.

That is learnable.

And once you start looking at the clothes and how they work with your shape and proportions instead of immediately criticising yourself, getting dressed becomes a very different conversation.
