SUPPORT OUR JAKO IRELAND RELAY FOR LIFE
TEAMWhy I’m Walking in Relay for Life Sligo: My Journey, Our Hope, and How You Can Help
In March of 2025 , my life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with neck cancer. It was a difficult journey—a journey that was filled with challenging days, uncertainty, and moments where relying on the support of family, friends, and healthcare professionals helped me to survive….
Today, I am incredibly grateful to say that I have recovered. Coming out on the other side of a cancer diagnosis gives you a whole new perspective on life. It deepens your gratitude for the everyday moments, but it also brings a strong desire to give back and support others who are currently standing where I once stood & that’s why I’m stepping up for Relay for Life Sligo.
What is Relay for Life?
Relay for Life is more than just a fundraising event. It’s a 24-hour celebration of life, memory, and hope. It brings our local community together to:
* Celebrate cancer survivors and their strength.
* Remember those we have lost to this disease.
* Fight Back by raising vital funds for the Irish Cancer Society’s life-saving research, patient suport services, and advocacy.
For 24 hours, team members take turns walking around the track to signify that cancer never sleeps—and neither do we in our mission to beat it.
Why Your Support Matters
When you’re going through cancer treatment, knowing that a community is rallying behind you means everything. The funds raised through Relay for Life directly support crucial services—from night nursing and transport schemes to cutting-edge research that leads to better treatments and higher survival rates &
every single euro raised stays working hard to support patients and families right when they need it most.
After going through treatment ….I am so sorry to anyone that I knew had Cancer and I didn’t didn’t sympathise enough with…
