*Back to school klaxon - pre-orders this week*

Hi everyone! Not long now til the kids are back to school, or perhaps starting preschool. Where did the summer go?!

We have the opportunity to order some super cosy brushed-back french terry (sweat fabric) in a range of practical colours that we think would be useful for school tracksuits. This fabric works up beautifully into snuggly, hard-wearing tracksuit bottoms. Our trackie pants feature soft ribbing, a drawstring and side pockets. The pockets can be plain, or made in a contrasting colour, or even with a cute print for some individuality.

The tricky bit is that we will need to order the fabric by the end of this coming week, for anyone who needs it for back to school. Otherwise, it will be mid-September before we can get it again.

We can also make these cute trackies in a more colourful range of solid colours in looped-back french terry, which is lighter fabric, but still cosy and comfy. There are so many options for this type of fabric, and we want to get the back to school concept out today, so if you are interested in the looped-back maybe just send a message or ask in the comments below! It's all a work in progress.

All the information required to make an order from Sew Basic is in this album. Follow these steps to get started!

1. Measure your kid(s) and compare to the size charts. Don't worry about if your child is not measuring according to their "age", just use the age their measurements are closest to. Maximum shrinkage on garments is up to 5% according to the fabric manufacturers, but we haven't experienced shrinkage with any of the items that we've tested.

2. Take a look at the product list and the available colours.

4. If this form is not accepting responses, then our books are currently closed, but will open again very soon, keep an eye on the group for announcements!

5. We will send you your invoice via PayPal, if we need to clarify any aspect of your order, we'll contact you by your preferred method.

Welcome to our small, Irish-made children's clothing brand! We make clothes for babies and kids up to 10 years old. All garments are made to order in Westport, Co. Mayo, using beautifully soft and supple Oeko Tex organic cotton.

It's always been a bit of a challenge to find the right plain tops or bottoms to coordinate with lovely bright kids' prints. Whether the issue is low stock in popular sizes, unappealing design features or unaffordable prices, it's not always easy to have the right items to hand when you want to make the most of an outfit.

With the advent of Brexit, access to affordable, ethical bright custom basics has become even more of a challenge to Irish consumers. Enter, Sew Basic!

Sandra McNally is a proficient and enthusiastic sewer who has honed her skills and upgraded her equipment over the last year and a half, testing out the junior creations on her adorable granddaughters, Daisy and April. Her daughter Niamh (Daisy's parent and a bit of a baby clothes addict) has long believed that there is a niche in the market for a line of simple, made to order basics, and her pestering has finally paid off.
