Lead singer Talya G.A. Solan of the Israeli band Yamma, in their music video "Apple of my Eye – Middle East Music: A Royal Love Song, To Awaken Love," is decorated with traditional Yemenite gold filigree earrings. These earrings echo the band's inspiration from the musicians' musical and ethnic backgrounds, as well as Jewish music traditions from across the Mediterranean and Africa. Yamma's songs draw upon the original sounds of Jewish communities from Yemen, Babylon, and Sephardic regions, showcasing fascinating forms and rhythms that have been preserved for generations. Yemenite jewelry is designed with a special technique called filigree. This ornamental work is made by weaving delicate wires in lacy patterns of intricate detail as pictured in this versatile yet stylized yellow gold filigree pomegranate set. These elegant spherical yellow gold earrings with rubies are handmade and highly fashionable for an array of occasions; the lariat necklace can be draped around the decollete or doubled to better accentuate the pomegranate beads and can be worn together or separately with our pomegranate style ring featured with fine quality precious stones.

Religious holidays, ceremonies, and customs are carried out with ritual objects known as Judaica. Traditionally, a mezuzah case is affixed on a doorpost. It is used to house a specific Hebrew verse from the Torah, which contains the “Shema” blessing to protect the home. Here, the tallit clips are decorated with a beautiful filigree crown and Hebrew lettering “Be-Tzel Kanfeicha Tastireni” from the Jewish psalms written by King David meaning, “Hide Me Beneath the Shadow of Your Wings”. Pictured here is also a lovely handmade sterling silver set mounted on a base with a heart design within the elaborate filigree work.

Judaica refers to objects used in Jewish rituals and ceremonies. The sterling silver Torah pointer, known as a "Yad" in Hebrew, helps readers follow the text without touching the holy scripture, preventing damage or erasure of letters. Pictured also here is a Kiddush cup with its unique cover, used for blessing wine marking Shabbat and religious holidays. A traditional symbol of Hanukkah is the dreidel, a small four-sided spinning top with Hebrew letters, which stand for "nes gadol haya sham," meaning "a great miracle happened there." This handmade sterling silver dreidel is beautifully designed with filigree and adorned with round semi-precious stones.

Jewish coins were different than Roman coins since they never put engraved images of their leaders on them as it was against Jewish law. Instead, Jewish coins often had one of the seven species like pomegranates, barley or in this case, wheat engraved onto them. This coin is a certified authentic ancient Jewish coin dated from approximately 40 A.D. It is known as Agrippa’s coin after King Herod Agrippa, the last Jewish King of Judea.

The Seven Species of Israel are special agricultural products of the Land of Israel; they are wheat, barley, grapes, figs, olives, pomegranates and dates. Each one of the species is mentioned in the fifth book of the Torah where Moses describes the abundance of the land that G-d is giving his people.

Wheat symbolizes abundance and prosperity, and is the basis of existence.

Israel and its people. Here are some of their symbols. Star of David, Hebrew letter shin “ש”, Hamsa, Tree of Life. What are their meanings?

Star of David ~ Protection and Jewish mysticism

Hamsa ~ warding of bad energies and the evil eye, Hamsa in Arabic means 5 like the 5 fingers of the hand.

Shin ~ The 21st letter of the Hebrew alphabet, Shin is the first letter of G-d’s name, “Shaddai” meaning “The Almighty” and it is the first letter of the Hebrew word “Shomer” "שומר" meaning to protect and guard.

Our version of the Tree of Life charm is engraved on both sides with these words:
‎אהבה – Love, הצלחה – SUCCESS, פריון – FERTILITY, חיים – LIFE, מזל – LUCK, בריאות -HEALTH, אושר - HAPPINESS

Now more than ever is it important for us to stay connected to our roots, religion, G-d, and the ideas embodied in our tree of life charm.
