Ended summer with these three lovely brides 🤍 Two out of three of these were custom pieces, sewn from scratch. Can you guess which ones?? 🪡✂️

Custom Silk Scarf for Omer Nudelman Simanovich’s Shabbat Chatan, styled by Aline Zhidkov 🩵

We knew we wanted a specific color, so we got some samples of different gorgeous 100% silk chiffon to take to the dyer and do some test runs

This was the color brief - a soft grey bluey purple. This was the day a bunch of Israelis learned the word “periwinkle” 😂

David, the dye guy! Best in the country, and a total magician.
He worked to get the color exactly right

Always vital to test colors in natural light 🌞

We took the fabric back to the studio, sewed up the scarf, and added a small pearlescent button for a closure to tie into the gown she wore 🤍

That drape of this silk is just stunning

At NEDE, we love a custom piece that celebrates two beautiful cultures coming together.

For Arielle’s second look, we knew we wanted to draw inspiration from her Sephardic Turkish roots. We sourced a beautiful embroidered fabric, then cut it apart, pieced it back together, and hand-sewed it as appliqué to create something completely her own.

We added touches of Bedouin fabric to Angelo’s suit, to honor his roots as well as to Arielle’s shoes, tying their two cultures together in the little details.

A very special one to bring to life, for two (now) very dear friends!

Sometimes your dream dress needs a little help becoming yours.

Heidi loved her gown (and so did we!!) But a few things weren’t quite right:
- The bodice needed a closer, more secure fit
- She wanted a little more coverage
- The sleeves were sitting off the shoulder, but she wanted them on the shoulder
- The skirt had wayyyy more volume than she wanted
- The train needed a serious bustle situation

So, we got to working magic at the NEDE 1996 studio 🪡
- Reconstructed the bodice, removing + reapplying the original lace
- Added hand-sewn lace for added coverage
- ⁠Fixed the placement of the sleeves
- Removed more than half of the skirt volume
- Shortened from the waist to preserve that beautiful lace border at the hem
- Engineered a seven-point bustle
- Finished with a custom cathedral veil

Same dress. Just much more Heidi. And that’s kind of the whole point.

Mazal tov, Heidi! So much went into this one, and we loved being a part of it 😌
