"Lovely day for a Guinness", official print of an advertising poster designed by John Gilroy in 1936.
John Gilroy is well known for his iconic advertising art for Guinness, often using animals enjoying the beer and this fun image is a great example. With the iconic phrase, "Lovely Day For A Guinness" a Toucan sits on top of a pole pointing East with a pint of the popular Irish dry stout resting on his beak. The Toucan became a regular in the Guinness campaigns, an advertisement from the 1940s ran with the following jingle, "Toucans in their nests agree, Guinness is good for you, try some today and see, What one or toucan do". Guinness promotional poster based on vintage design would make a fun addition to any space.
