Tara- ABD An Apparel and Home Textile studio based in Ahmedabad under the brand name "TARA". There on started her focus on harnessing local skills as much as possible.

A journey towards elegant, classy timeless designs for those who value hand crafted products. Born out of love for natural fabrics combined with elegant yet simple hand embelishment, Tara was set up by Hirnakshi Harshwal with an aim to design apparels for the women of today who are looking for elegant, classy and original designs. The essence of her designs lies in the simple yet fantastic cuts an

d patterns which are suitable for various occasions.. Hirnakshi always aims to source her fabrics directly from the craftsmen and has extensively travelled to places like Kota, MP, Bhuj and continues to do so regularly. To add an interesting twist to her work, in her search to find good KAARIGARS(crafts people) she found that in a normal Indian scenario, one doesnt need to travel very far to get basic craftsmen like tailors, embroiderers, craft people who do applique, mukesh work etc to mention in a few. All the embelishment and delicate surface treatment seen in her designs are done by highly skilled people who enjoy the fact that they also get to use their creativity in an interesting way apart from earning a living. We at Tara hope that you will enjoy our designs and remain on board for this journey full of exciting explorations and the sheer joy of working with humongous talent that our country has to offer. Every collaboration with like minded association means and builds up a lot of value .It enhances a vision,and also brings up new opportunities to grow.

One such collaboration is coming up with Yogsutra with Manju Narang for a market place experience of handmade and many other interesting works by various individuals.

It's an effort to slow pace the buying experience process,by curating a traditional 'bazaar' flow, where value is given to quality over quantity and one can come with ease , spend time and buy or experience something delightful.

It is a one day experience and can be a sweet one.

When I think of prints ,my favourite inspiration is daily life, or the objects I grew up with and became fond of.

One such integral part of my family has been the Radio or the 'Transistor', it has contributed so much and still continues to play an important role first thing in the morning.

How dramatic it would be to have one of the Radio prints in your wardrobe as prints , maybe a stand out too!!.

Once in a while you receive a like minded association, that becomes valuable.

One such platform to show case at thiys year is coming up on the 24th, 25th July , the MALAK , a gathering of artists and their impressive hand made works from various walks of life.

It will be an honor to be one of them , meet them and learn their narratives.

I will be displaying all of my printed collections, toys ,textile accessories and also hear stories and view arts at MALAK.
