Of all the parenting advice I could share by my experiences, one that I most strongly recommend is to inculcate the habit to ‘READ’ in your little one. It is the best learning you can ever provide to these little minds.
All the creativity, imagination, vocabulary or whatever you may want your little one to have is not gonna get incorporated in them in any other better way. .
I’m a huge advocate of reading, myself and I am a reader just because my parents may not have bought me all the toys I’ve ever wanted but they bought me all the books I’ve ever wanted to have, even if I didn’t need any at that time (which by the way never happens).
How I feel books help kids develop-
❄️Reading or merely flipping the pages of a book makes kids’ imagination and creativity develop ten fold.
❄️It makes them more articulate and helps them in framing simple and complex sentences better and earlier.
❄️Builds up great vocabulary skills in children also ones that stay in their language for a lifetime. They are also able to frame better sentences using non monotonous words.
❄️ You don’t have to worry about kids nagging about getting bored. If they love books they will always find one to pacify their boredom.
❄️Not to mention how much books increase their knowledge of the extra curricular world.
I have been reading to K every night at bedtime and several times during the day too whenever he wants and I love how he is growing fonder of reading.
I usually use picture books for him and once I tell him stories he very cautiously using the same words and relating to pictures reads them out to me.
