Last summer and I got the opportunity to work with to make this custom piece .
Bandhini /Bandana prints (ambiyan) were originally an indian block printing design which caught the eye of colonialists in the 19th century and went on to be used in various forms over the years by every major design label in the world . As it so happens that banadanas also found place in the hip hop where it signified affiliations based on colours . This shirt is the culmination of our attempt to bring together all the chapters of history these prints have survived through .
