Caring for Mulberry Silk: A Guide to Keeping Your Eco-Printed Pieces Beautiful
🫧 Wash — By hand only, in cool water with a gentle pH-neutral soap. Swirl, don’t scrub or wring. In and out in under 5 minutes — silk doesn’t like to soak.
☀️ Dry — Roll gently in a towel to soak up excess water, then lay flat in the shade. Direct sun fades the botanical dyes.
🔥 Iron — Lowest heat, reverse side, slightly damp, with a cotton cloth between iron and fabric. Skip the steam on printed areas.
📦 Store — Acid-free tissue or a breathable cotton bag, never plastic. Cedar or lavender keeps the moths away naturally.
A note on the colour: these prints are made entirely from plants — so the palette is alive, and may soften or shift ever so slightly with time. That’s not fading. That’s your piece ageing gracefully, gathering its own story.
