Some stories begin with a knot.

A quiet act of patience that shapes everything that follows. Bound by hand, released through
colour, and revealed in cloth, each knot carries the memory of its making!

A season written in circles.

Raindrops become motifs. Ripples become pattern. Cloth becomes a surface where colour settles, shifts and remembers every fold, knot and wrap.

Studio Medium’s Pre-Festive 2026, collection brings together artisanal textile practices from
Gujarat and Bengal, interpreted through a distinctly contemporary lens.

The making of DAWN -
Swipe through to get a glimpse of the process and the craft.
Craft is the DNA of our cultural fabric. It is what has always unified us. This series is a
reflection of that.
It is the thread running through how we understand ourselves and each other.
When traditional knowledge meets meaningful collaboration, craft is no longer confined to
the past. It becomes a bridge to the future.
In these textile panels, Rai Bandhani is interpreted through a contemporary lens.
Rather than following heritage motifs of geometry, flora, or fauna, the Bandhani creates
free-flowing lines that suggest movement, possibility, and change.
Each work is naturally dyed, crafted in Bandhani on tussar silk.
The colours have been chosen with intention. They echo the tones of soil, stone, and
landscape.
Clusters of Bandhani dots and lines run through the work. Alongside plain dyed panels
together, they form the body of these textile pieces.
Each panel holds a delicate balance: what do we retain from the past, and what do we
change as we move into the future?
The overall language is free-flowing and fluid.
Moving away from rigidity and convention.
Towards a space of freedom, collaboration, and unison.

Ode to Odd shapes handwoven cottons, silks and mulmul into unhurried silhouettes, their florals unfolding gently and marked by the quiet trace of the human hand.

Woven by generations of weavers across India, each piece celebrates the imperfections that make it entirely its own.

Handcrafted in satin and shaped into a structured silhouette, it is a piece that settles as naturally against traditional dress as it does against a contemporary evening look.

Part of the Vanraaj collection by Puneet Gupta, it is where heritage artistry and modern elegance quietly come together.

Shikha Grover and Vinita Adhikari have been building a language out of texture — hand-smocking, beadwork, and slow, considered construction that turns fabric into
something closer to sculpture than cloth. Trained at Pearl Academy and NIFT respectively, the two designers behind ILK have spent over a decade exploring where craftsmanship meets contemporary form, letting every collection sit at the intersection of texture, silhouette, and colour.

The result is clothing that feels handmade in the truest sense — expressive, unhurried, and built to be worn rather than simply seen.

ILK - the surface tells the whole story coaxed by hand into something quietly alive, smocked adding playful texture and touched with the finest work. It is a slow, intricate kind of craft, one that reveals itself gently the longer you look.

Now on display at Collage.
