Duhieta is an odia term commonly used by people staying in Odisha for would be brides. It actually depicts the life of a girl. Generally for all Indians, marriage is not coming together of two individuals but coming together of two families. It’s on the part of the woman to bridge the gap between her two families i.e her parental family and family of in-laws. Thus the term duhieta exactly describe

s this role of a woman where she dedicates her life in bridging the gap between her two families and maintaining her relations well and it’s only in the hands of a woman either to make a house or break a house. Our store depicts this relationship wherein we will bridge the gap between the weavers or the hand-loom producers and consumers. Hence, Duhieta’s motto is to contribute further to enhancing the skill of a genuine rural weavers of Odisha on a platform of appreciation and sale of their much loved weaving, creativity and toil of generations. Classic concept represented with modernity and innovation using Bandhakala
The art of Madhubani has its roots in Mithila. Tradition states that the Madhubani style of painting originated at the time of the Ramayana, when King Janak commissioned artists to do paintings at the time of his daughter, Sita ma's wedding with Lord Rama. But it was unknown to the outside world until the massive earthquake on India-Nepal border in 1934 when the houses and walls tumbled down and the paintings were discovered and published to the world.All figures featured in Madhubani paintings have a symbolic meaning attached to them and the presence of these symbols enhances the beauty of the paintings.
Today this marvel by Lakhmidhara bhai flaunts the Madhubani style Bird motifs. Birds have always inspired humans to feel free and light and fly. They represent perspective and have always been messengers of peace.

that will be working towards promotion and development of Odisha Handloom,
In this first session a dying demonstration was organised in the Manibandha Handloom Cluster, Cuttack district. A new method of dying was introduced to reduce the tedious process of heating the dye. All weavers were so enthusiastic to learn and adopt the new process.
Their confidence was evident from their eyes looking for a brighter future.
Next we also discussed with the weavers about the changes that can be made in order to provide a maximum sale of weaver products thereby increasing their income substantially.
The entire experience was so satisfying .Their confidence, positivity and genuine smiles truly brightened our day and made us believe that if one is determined enough he can bring a change.
The weavers of Odisha have held on to their promise of producing exceptional products for centuries and we have known no other way. To promote and encourage our very own handloom and weavers of Odisha has always been our priority and we are thankful to Shraddha for making us a part of this wonderful initiative.

In this video our weaver bhai is explaining why two weavers are involved in Berhampuri weaving

He is saying:
Berhampuri weaving is the only weaving technique that requires presence of two weavers on the loom for passing the shuttle. This is done to maintain the accuracy of Phoda or pricking count on both sides of the fabric.
