Breaking Barriers and Empowering Women 💪🏻
Last Friday, we organised a menstrual health workshop at our Faridabad facility, and it was eye-opening for all of us. With immense gratitude, we want to acknowledge our incredible facilitator, Madam Sh*tal Talwar Puri, Director of Design at Samvad Sustainable Solutions Pvt. Ltd, who guided us through this.
Madam Puri shared her vast knowledge and expertise, providing us with detailed and informative insights about our bodies, health, and the importance of an indigenous diet in maintaining long-term well-being. 🌿
But it wasn't just knowledge that we gained. We also discovered an incredible sense of unity and support from one another as we shared our experiences and learned from each other's stories.
One of the most remarkable aspects of this workshop was our exploration of alternative and sustainable sanitary products, including menstrual cups & reusable sanitary napkins. Madam Puri not only educated us about these eco-friendly options but also helped facilitate access to materials like super soft brushed cotton sheets and PUL (Polyurethane Laminate, which makes cloth pads leak proof and is completely biodegradable!). She also showed us how to hand sew these cloth napkins! This is a game-changer for our community and the environment.
Today, as we reflect upon this enriching experience, we are reminded of the immense importance of creating safe spaces for conversations about women's reproductive health, especially in a country like India where societal norms often silence these discussions. Simple gatherings like these are powerful enough to pave the way for a healthier future for all women.
We are deeply moved by the openness of every individual who attended our workshop, including the men, who have never been invited to learn about women's reproductive health so deeply. Their willingness to participate and learn has added a new dimension to our MuddleArt family.
Taking forward what we have learned and sharing it with others makes us ambassadors of change, however small. Together, we can erase the stigma and empower women with the knowledge they deserve!
