Inspired by this living heritage, our festive collection brings together the richness of handwoven Banarasi brocades, the lustre of pure resham and gold zari, and the intricacy of age-old hand embroidery. Deep crimson, vibrant pinks and glimmers of gold unfold across timeless silhouettes, reflecting the patience, skill and artistic inheritance of Banaras’ master craftspeople.

This festive season, SUNIRA continues its journey to Kashi (Varanasi) — one of the world’s oldest living cities, and a centre of worship, learning, music and weaving for thousands of years.

For the past three seasons, we have worked closely with a community of Banarasi handloom weavers, exploring the extraordinary textile traditions of this city. This season, our journey takes us deeper — beyond the looms, into another rich chapter of Kashi’s cultural heritage: its Banaras Gharana

At SUNIRA, our accessories often carry forward the stories and inspirations of collections past, finding new expression through our signature katran craft — the art of reimagining leftover textiles from our collections.

Inspired by the mesmerising movements of Sufi dervishes, our collection The Whirling Dance explored the beauty of rhythm, movement and the freedom of dance.

Revisiting this inspiration, the Whirling Dance Tote and Clutch bring the story to life once again. Fragments of velvet and fabric come together in sweeping, rhythmic forms, enriched with intricate hand embroidery, zardozi and beading.
