This 100 year old knitting machine is completely mechanic and powered by hand, which means that it doesn’t need any electricity to work. These machines played an important part in both World Wars, providing wool socks to the soldiers to keep their feet warm and dry in the trenches.
We recovered one of these old machines to make our naturally dyed wool socks for you.
Esta máquina de tricot de 100 años de antigüedad es completamente mecánica, por lo que no necesita electricidad para funcionar. Estas máquinas jugaron un papel muy importante en ambas guerras mundiales, proveyendo a los soldados con calcetines de lana para poder mantener sus pies templados y secos en las trincheras. Hemos recuperado una de estas viejas máquinas para hacer nuestros calcetines de lana teñidos con plantas para ti.

A blood service that gives patients access to safe blood and blood products in sufficient quantity is a key component of an effective health system. Indigo dye was once rare and very expensive – a luxury commodity associated with royalty, political power and authority. Known as ‘blue gold’ it was so valuable that, when prices were high, it was used as currency to purchase slaves who were worth their own weight in indigo.

The title "Re_Denim" in fact synthesizes this conversion process. The result, created in a unique piece, which has elements taken from various cultures and types of clothing. Aarti Anglo Murals is all about experimenting with one of the unique art forms of India – Murals. The most distinctive thing about mural making is that every art piece is the result of a plethora of different mediums, which allows me to keep experimenting and evolving with this art. I try using a different combination of mediums for every mural, which keeps the stagnancy away and makes it stand out from the clutter.
