*CHARACTER FOR HIGHER WAYS*

*Bad character buried great men before their time both in scriptures*
*and modern times.*
Moses was the most anointed and accomplisher of great feats peculiar to God - such as crossing of the red sea, devastating an entire most powerful nation without ammunition, instant killing of all first sons, redeeming lsrael after 430years, feeding them without farming for 40 years, provision of water in the wilderness, elimination of all opposing nations that constituted nuisance on their way without arms yet with no security attaché. In spite of all these, the melancholy spirit of anger stopped him from reaching Canaan. Consequently, God released perfect panacea for character preservation which is the Holy Spirit with His fruits and gifts. The gifts are for charisma while the fruits are for character hence charisma is at the
mercy of character.
The following are fruits for character preservation. " _But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law_ " (Gal. 5:22-23).
*Love* This kind of love focuses on what to give. It is unconditional- the 'in
spite of' type of love. One cannot love and hate a person at the same time. One either loves God or Satan. Jesus enjoined us to love our haters.
*Joy* - With joy one draws from the wells of salvation (lsaiah 12:3). Happiness is determined by happenings around _but joy is from within even in the midst of emptiness._
*Peace* -This is the greatest asset on earth because conflict is now a natural sequence everywhere. In the words of Napoleon Bonaparte, peace is not free, it is either someone paid or is paying for it. Never depart anywhere or leave
anyone without peace. That is(one of) the (only) asset Jesus gave us.
*Longsuffering* - It is long and patient endurance of trouble or provocation. One can neither live long nor enjoy tomorrow without longsuffering.
*Many became patients today because they lacked patience yesterday. An African saying holds that an elder is partially blind because he overlooks certain things around him.*
