JENJUM GADI (MOPIN)
Drawing inspiration from his roots in the Galo tribe of Arunachal Pradesh, Jenjum Gadi introduces a striking new collection inspired by the Mopin festival, one of the main festivals of the tribe to celebrate prosperity and wealth of agriculture. Traditionally, the attires worn during the festival are rich with geometric patterns in black and white, symbolizing the community’s cultural heritage. However, in a bold reinterpretation, Gadi reverses this palette, creating garments that are predominantly black with intricate white patterns.
This collection celebrates the timeless weaving traditions of the Galo people, blending ancestral motifs with contemporary design. Each piece is a tribute to the spirit of Goddess ‘Mopin Ane’, embodying the blessings of prosperity, wealth, and the deep connection between heritage and modernity.
