This reverse batik block print pattern on cotton fabric is inspired by the timeless beauty of architectural jaalis, where carved geometry allows light to pass through in measured rhythm. Here, the motifs are not added but revealed by removing colour, giving the design a soft, aged depth that feels calm and contemplative.
The repeated jaali-like floral and geometric forms echo the symmetry of stone latticework, while the gentle crackles and blurred edges—born from the reverse batik process—create a sense of movement, like light shifting through screens over time. Earthy reds, muted indigos, and warm neutrals balance each other beautifully, making the pattern feel rooted in heritage yet quietly modern.
Every block impression carries the hand of the artisan, turning this textile into a living surface of light, shadow, and craft—where tradition breathes through fabric.
