Introducting my brand again//There is a word in Sanskrit — आवृत्ति. Aavrriti. A return. A cycle. The quiet certainty that what is beautiful will always come back.
The word comes from the Bhagavad Gita — the eternal rhythm of all existence. My father saw it in the movement of a weaver’s hands. In the way a saree is draped not from instruction, but from memory. So he named this brand after it.
Hi, I am Maanushi. And yes, I was raised by a fauji wife. And today, I run Aavrriti as one myself. A brand built by experiences of two fauji wives (mom daughter duo, tbh).
I know what it means to pack your life into boxes and rebuild it somewhere new. To stand in an unfamiliar house and make it feel like home. To show up for your family, for yourself; even when everything around you keeps changing. A fauji wife doesn’t just move cities. She carries the home within her.
And through every move, every farewell, every fresh start — it was always the saree that stayed. Not hanging in a wardrobe, but alive. Worn on the hard days. Worn on the proud days. Worn when you needed to remember who you were.
That is what Aavrriti is. Not just handlooms and silks but that feeling. Of being rooted when the ground won’t stand still. Of beauty that travels with you. Of something passed quietly from mother to daughter, city to city, heart to heart.
Some things really do return. 🤍
