But, whose porisoi are we talking about in here? It’s the identity of the women who have to depend on the male members of the household to meet their expenses, it’s the identity of th

ose women, who need to think twice before continuing their studies, The Identity of those women whose skill eventually die out due to lack of exposure. It’s the identity of the women living in a village or the ‘weavers’ who go unrecognised. We as team ‘Porisoi’ aim to generate livelihood among those women through handloom (primarily mekhela sador and gamusa)
Our motive is to give them a platform to showcase their talent so that their products are appreciated and never go unsold and make sure that they become financially independent, not only during festive seasons like Bihu but throughout the year.
