JOBAT DURRIES [ PANJA METHOD]

Panja Dari manufactured in and around Jobat Tehsil of Alirajpur which was the part of Jhabua district. Alirajpur was created from Jhabua district in 2008. A small town Jobat, district Alirajpur, Madhya Pradesh was a princely state in India during the British Raj. lt was placed administratively under the Bhopawar Agency subdivision of the Central India. Jobat is inhabited by the tenacious and hardworking tribes, the Bhils and Bhilalas. Jobat was part of Jhabua district till 2008. On '17 May, 2008, Alirajpur became separate district from Jhabua District

Madhya Pradesh dhurries are known for their colours and sturdy character. Panja is a metallic, claw-like fork used for beating the weft thread in the warp so as to adjust it there. The beating is directly proportional to the stability of the dari.

In Jobat, Alirajpur, The tribal women weave the warp and weft made of pure cotton. After every weaving, she keeps tapping with an iron claw. Due to this banging, the distance becomes so strong that even water cannot pass through at. Along with the compatibility of the environment of the house, it also becomes an adaptation of the carpet in the weather.

PANJA DURRI

Panja durries are one-of-a-kind rugs that are famous for their high quality, sturdiness, and long-lasting nature. These dhurries are handwoven and the design is perfected with the use of the Panja, a metallic claw-like tool used to beat and set the threads in the warp.

Sidhi is a district town in state of madhya pradesh and is home to traditional panja durri and carpet weavers. With very beautiful designs, vibrant colours, rich textile and high durability of more than 50 years, the panja daris and carpets of Sidhi are the hallmark of quality and beauty. There are around 40 panja dari and carpet weaving units working in cluster in Sihawal block of Sidhi. The daris and carpets have attained fame through handicraft fairs at international and national level. The daris have also been selected under “One District One Product” scheme for its promotion and market linkage.

SARANGPUR PADANA BED SHEET

Padhana is a Village in Sarangpur Tehsil in Rajgarh District of Madhya Pradesh State, India. It belongs to Bhopal Division . It is located 57 KM towards South from District head quarters Rajgarh. 7 KM from Sarangpur. 109 KM from State capital Bhopal

Padana village is famous for hand-loom cloth, padana is a well known cluster of hand-loom BEDSHEET and TOWELS and presently near about 200 hand-loom are operational in padana, ansari ( Julaha, Momin) family are producing hand-loom cloth since 1930.

This Double Bedsheet is woven with white 2/40s cotton in warp and pink cotton 20s in weft. The Geometric Design in Bedsheet is woven with extra weft cotton yarn.

CHAKDHARIYA BAIGA SAREE.

Chak-Dhariya saree is woven and worn majorly by Baiga tribal community, primarily residing in eastern Madhya Pradesh (dindori) and adjoining parts of chattisghar state.

It’s made with White colured 10s cotton yarn in warp and weft. It has pallu at the end of both side of saree. The design in Pallu is woven with extra weft colured cotton yarns. It is specially produced for Baiga Tribal Bride.

Name of the Geographical Indication and particulars :-

Pochampally Ikat is produced/ manufactured in the districts of Nalconda and Parts of Warangal in the State of Andhra Pradesh.

There are at least 40 villages within 70 k.m. radius of Hyderabad, the capital of Andhra Pradesh, in the adjoining districts of Nalgonda and parts of Warangal including Pochampally (also spelt Pochampalli), Koyalagudam, Puttapakka, Elanki and Chautupal where Ikat textiles are woven.

(i) Pochampally Handloom Weaver's Co-op Society Ltd an autonomous society registered under the Societies Act 1860 and

(ii) Pochampally Handloom Tie & Dye Silk Sarees Manufacturers Association, an association established under the law

are the two conspicuous bodies that are responsible for the production and marketing of Pochampally Ikat.
