Most people pick a product because they saw someone else making money with it.

That's the whole reason. No demand check, no margin math. Just "it's selling for them, so it'll sell for me."

Here's the part nobody tells you: by the time a product is visibly trending, you're already late. The sellers actually profiting from it got in months ago, they have better rates from their supplier, and they can drop their price below your cost and still make money. You can't win that fight. You just fund their growth.

Demand is different from a trend. Demand was there before you noticed it and it'll be there after the hype dies. A trend has an expiry date, and nobody tells you when it is.

So before you buy a single unit, answer one question honestly: if this product stopped being popular tomorrow, would anyone still buy it?

If yes, you have a business. If no, you have inventory.
