I still don’t fully understand the concept of “celebrating” Mother’s Day. 😄

The day my baby was born, I became a mother… and since then it has been a permanent full-time position with no off button, no off day.

24 hours a day.
7 days a week.
Even in sleep mode, moms are still running thoughts like
“she did not eat properly today, what should I make tomorrow?”
" do we have enough boiled water?”
“Did I pack the extra diapers?”
“Why is the house suddenly so quiet?”

And the funniest part? Even when we are at work, on vacation, out with friends, or finally sitting alone for five minutes… mentally we are still somewhere between snack planning and emergency preparedness. 😂

So honestly, instead of Mother’s Day, I propose:
✨ “Not-A-Mother's Day.” ✨

One day where mothers get to temporarily uninstall the nonstop alert mode.
One day where nobody asks us where anything is.
One day where we can sit peacefully without picking up things/ stacking stuff or thinking where did I keep that.

A day where we remember the woman we were before motherhood lovingly consumed our entire operating system. ❤️

Not because we don’t love being mothers.
But because sometimes, mothers deserve a moment to simply be themselves again.
