কী অসম্ভব ক্লান্তিকর এক বিচার পদ্ধতি! কী অসম্ভব দীর্ঘ ক্লান্ত দিন কাটছে! কী চূড়ান্ত বিরক্তিকর এক সময়! গিটার বাজাচ্ছে নায়িকা! গান চলছে, "আমার এই দেহ খানি তুলে ধরো …" সৌরভ গাঙ্গুলির মেয়ে সদ্য ইংল্যান্ড থেকে নেমে ঝরঝরে ইংলিশে জানাচ্ছে, আমি কলকাতায় থাকি না। তবে এখানকার মেয়েদের নিরাপত্তা দরকার। কী যান্ত্রিক কথা! কী যান্ত্রিক গলার স্বর। কোন আবেগ নেই, কোন দুঃখ নেই। শুধু কোন রকম মিছিল শেষ করেই ফিরতে হবে। কেউ গোল হয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে একটানা গেয়ে যাচ্ছে, "আজা শাম হুই মুঝে তেরি ফিকর হোনে লাগি …" । আবেগ ছত্রে ছত্রে! স্কুলের বাচ্ছা ছেলে মেয়েরা দুর্ভাগা সেই মেয়ের জন্য মিছিল করছে হাতে মোবাইল নিয়ে। রিল বানাতে বানাতে জুড়ে দিচ্ছে সেই অমোঘ গান, "দেখো আলোয় আলো আকাশ…" রিল শেষে বলতে ভুলছে না আমার চ্যানেলটি সাবস্ক্রাইব করে নেবেন!

কপিল সিব্বলের গোটা টিমকে হায়ার করেছে রাজ্য। অভিজ্ঞ, বাঘা বাঘা, দুদে সব উকিলরা একত্রিত হয়েছেন যাতে একটি রাজ্যে ৩৬ ঘন্টা একটানা ডিউটি করা ক্লান্ত,ঘুমন্ত নিজের কর্ম ক্ষেত্রে একটি মেয়ের খুন হয়ে যাওয়ার দায় কোন ভাবেই সেই রাজ্যের সুপ্রিমের ঘাড়ে না পড়ে!
কী জানি! আগে কোনদিন এতো ক্লান্তিকর এতো দীর্ঘ মনে হয়নি জীবনকে! এতোটা অসহ্য লাগেনি এই পৃথিবী। আগামী প্রজন্মের ভবিষ্যত চোখের সামনে নষ্ট হয়ে যেতে দেখলে হয়তো এতোটাই ক্লান্তি আসে! আমি এতদিনে জেনে গেছি, আমার সন্তানের সাথে যদি অঘটন কিছু ঘটে রাষ্ট্র কোন দায় নেবে না। আমার সন্তানের নামটি চিরতরে শুধু মুছে যাবে পৃথিবী থেকে! আর অসহায় মা, বাবা ভাববে আমার সন্তানটি মৃত্যুর আগের মুহূর্তে কি বাঁচতে চেয়ে খুব জোরে একবার চিৎকার করেছিল? আমি শুনতে পাইনি, ঘুমিয়েছিলাম। তারপরও কিছু আশা নিয়ে আমি বেঁচে থাকব! অপেক্ষা করব খুনির শাস্তির। আর মহামান্য আদালত তখন চোখে কাপড় বেঁধে একের পর এক তারিখ দিয়ে যাবে।
