Sreemati is my new found friend.

I met her suddenly at a cafe, she came and spoke to me, telling me
she follows my work. I saw a very bubbly, smiling woman whose eyes
sparkled while she talked. I met her only once till date (hope to meet
her soon again) but I call her friend as it is very rare that you feel
connected with someone instantly.

She from Kathmandu messaged me telling me she wants to customise a
saree in our imprint for her mother. We virtually
decided on the saree and the colours of the saree and the colours of
the flowers, but during the process we realised we could not imprint
the leaves in green as the base of the saree was grey, the colour
green was not coming out prominently. We took the liberty to imprint
the leaves in dark brown (you can call it an artistโ€™s liberty) and
showed it to her after doing the palla (anchol) of the saree, so she
can get a full visual impression. She instantly gave a thumbs up to
the design and to the colour scheme. I donโ€™t know why I never doubted
she will object to it, something deep inside told me she will approve
as I know being an artist herself she will appreciate another artistโ€™s
designing liberty.

Later when I sent the saree to her mother, I came to know she
wanted the saree for her mother's wedding anniversary. The
thought, to celebrate her parentsโ€™ wedding anniversary with her mother
when her father is no more and to make the day special and to make her
mother feel special on the day is so beautiful. It's true a personโ€™s
physical absence essentially does not mean that personโ€™s spiritual
absence too and special days should be celebrated always rather than
to mourn over.

This was in May, today in midst of work stress and not feeling good
on certain aspects I suddenly get these pictures from Sreemati, with a
beautiful message, โ€˜Matri Debi finally porechhen ' (mother atlast wore
the saree), the pictures instantly brought an ear to ear smile
which will continue throughout the day and I am sure nobody could have
done more justice to the saree than Mashima ๐Ÿ˜Š

Days like this I believe is a divine way of telling me that no
matter what I should continue my work, the journey must go on.
