Nine years ago, on this very day, I started RAI.
Not many people know this, but I chose this date because it was my grandparents’ wedding anniversary.
Today, they would have completed 65 beautiful years together. I wanted my brand to always carry a piece of them, their love, their blessings, and everything they stood for.
I hope they are celebrating somewhere up there. ✨
The last few years have been a journey.
Life took me from Kolkata to Bangalore, where I chose to step out of my comfort zone to grow, not just as a designer, but as a creative professional. I wanted to understand styling, creative direction, photoshoots, branding, marketing, and everything that goes into building a meaningful business.
In the process, I lost a part of my customer base because the designer was not in town anymore. That was natural.
But what never changed was the trust of so many people who continued believing in RAI. Many people do not even know that the business never truly stopped. My mom has been holding the fort with so much love, patience, and dedication, better than I ever could have imagined.
Yes, the turnover became smaller.
But I do not see these years as a pause.
I see them as a sabbatical, a conscious decision to learn, evolve, gain experience, and return stronger than before.
Today, as I remember my grandparents on their 65th anniversary, I want to make a promise to them, to myself, and to everyone who has supported me over the years.
RAI is coming back.
Not just as a clothing label, but with a clear vision, a defined niche, and years of learning behind it. We are preparing for a relaunch that feels true to everything I have dreamt of.

You will always be my first dream, my love, my baby, my little child.
And I promise I will stand beside you, nurture you, and watch you grow into everything you were meant to become.
Here is to new beginnings, old blessings, and stories that were never finished, only waiting for the right time to bloom again.
