When Devyani walked in with her mother, the brief wasn’t about fashion.
It was about memory.
They came to us with a wish close to the heart- to honour her Nani’s legacy by breathing new life into her treasured pieces. To take the silver she had once worked with her own hands, the garments she wore in her youth, and transform them into an ensemble that would carry her presence forward.
What they brought with them was priceless.
Her Nani’s blouse, worn as a teenager. Pure silver taris in countless shapes and sizes. Delicate silver laces salvaged from old, beloved outfits- each piece holding years of stories and love.
We began by restoring the blouse to its original, vibrant hue- preserving the soul of the garment before anything else. The sleeves were kept intact and lovingly re-imagined into a new blouse, while the silver taris and laces were brought together to create a jaali-style embroidery at the back- quietly striking, rich with history.
For the lehenga, floral motifs were hand-crafted across its length, giving it a celebratory richness while allowing the silver to shine once again. The silhouettes were kept simple, timeless, and evergreen- so the ensemble would live on far beyond trends.
When Devyani and her mother saw the final creation, there was joy. And something more- recognition.
Because this wasn’t just an outfit anymore. It was her Nani’s memories, gently woven into her trousseau. A piece of love she now carries forward.
A beautiful reminder that heirlooms don’t belong in boxes- they belong in moments, worn close to the heart.
This isn’t just an ensemble.
It’s an emotion.
