An exploration of diverse cultures, aesthetics and a search for the elusive self, finds expression in State of Play. State of Play articulates the cohesion of a theme amidst the flux of imagination, in a playful manner. From a nomadic childhood spent among tribal populations in the Tea Gardens of Assam to travelling across five Continents creating Costumes for Films, the adventure so far, has fill
ed me with an abundance of experience and inspiration. Rummaging through as an escape from the mundane, has resulted in my very first collection. A strong campaigner of style with comfort and a firm believer in breathable, indigenous fabrics, the first collection is a pastiche of pure Assamese handlooms, interpreted as Apparel, Eri ‘Ahimsa’ Silk Scarves woven by local artisans, along with traditional North Indian textiles that take the shape of Weekender Totes. The collection stays true to its inherently bohemian aesthetic. This is the current State of Play.
