Dear Readers, thank you for being with me through this unkind year. Hope this little poem makes you smile. Merry Christmas!
Be silly-Be kind
It’s been a different ride this year.
A year full of Dalgona coffees, Banana Breads-
Zoom meetings where you kept abreast.
Trousers and pants, sarees and salwars rusted;
Pyjamas and loungers screamed for a break.
“Am I audible?”
“Can you share your screen?”
“Please mute yourself.”
You and I mumbled in our sleep.
Hugs became taboo.
Sneeze is a crime.
Cough is an arrest warrant.
Anxiety-became as common as constipation.
Distances couldn’t be bridged.
Some just left without saying goodbye.
But now that I am here-says Santa...
There will be all things bright.
Whether you have been naughty or nice-you will get a prize.
Each of you will have my power-
The power to give and make the other smile.
All I say is - this year has been unkind.
You must be silly.
You must be kind.
