A ‘Wedding Textile’.

Conceptualised and created for a client’s bridal entry, Saim revisits the conventional ‘phoolon ki chaadar’ through its signature techniques of patchwork with over 1,000 handmade cord and tassel fringes, hand embroidered over a span of seven days.

Based around the couple’s theme of ‘quantum entanglement’ - the reality of two objects being alike devoid of distance and alterations - hand drawn motifs include a re-imagined Claude logo blooming into flower petals, an auspicious lotus, paisleys, beetle leaves and an infinite sign.

Handcrafted in a silk chanderi, with patchworks of satin, silk thread and fabric tassels.

Catalogue 005 / the dhoti drape kaftan; scallop tasseled trouser.

Inspired by ancient temple, historical sculptures and traditional ornamentations of India, the ‘kaftan’ re - imagines a protective kavach, bangles and the celebrated dhoti drape.

Meticlous satin patchworks trace over the drape lines of a traditional dhoti with a central pleat suspension; finished with hand made cord and tassel fringes - worked upon seventy man hours by our skilled pattern makers, construction and finishing teams.

This festive season, wear an Indian story adapted to the functions and styles of today; celebrate a ‘Saim’.
