Kulgam, Apr 11: A youth from Waltengoo hamlet of Kund in south kashmiri's Kulgam district, Aishaan Rasool, has secured the first position in the “Top Ideas for Nasha Mukt Kulgam” initiative organised by the District Administration Kulgam, officials said on Saturday.
He was awarded a cash prize of ₹5,000 along with a certificate for his innovative and community-oriented idea aimed at curbing drug abuse.
Aishaan was honoured on the occasion by Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Shahzad Alam. Senior Superintendent of Police Kulgam and other senior officers were also present during the felicitation ceremony.
Officials said the initiative was launched to involve youth in generating constructive solutions to tackle the growing menace of substance abuse. The programme received an encouraging response, with participants presenting a range of impactful ideas focused on awareness and prevention.
Aabid Nazir and Eibad Ibn Nisar secured the second and third positions, respectively, while Jammy Ahmad Bhat and Bilal Ahmad Zargar finished fourth and fifth.
The administration also announced that the next ten best ideas would receive special recognition and their names would be published on the official website.
Reiterating its commitment to a drug-free society, the district administration said such initiatives play a crucial role in engaging youth and fostering collective responsibility towards making Kulgam free from substance abuse.
