Meet Shivkar Bapuji Talpade. 🇮🇳

In 1895, on Mumbai’s Chowpatty Beach, legends say Talpade launched an unmanned aircraft named Marutsakha ("Friend of the Wind"). Unlike modern planes, his design was allegedly based on ancient Vedic texts and the Vaimanika Shastra, powered by a mercury ion engine. 📜⚙️

Witnesses claimed it flew to 1,500 feet—defying gravity long before Kitty Hawk. So why isn't he in our textbooks?

The History Books Forgot Them: The 27 Women Who Saved the Forest 🌲✊🏽
We all learned about the "Chipko Movement" in school. We memorized names of famous leaders. But the true spark of this revolution wasn't lit by a politician on a stage. It was lit by a widow named Gaura Devi and 27 illiterate women in a remote village in the Himalayas.

🗓 March 26, 1974.
The government and contractors played a dirty trick. They lured all the men of Reni village away to the city under the pretense of handing out compensation. The village was left defenseless. Or so they thought.

As laborers marched toward the forest with axes and liquor, Gaura Devi didn't wait for permission. She gathered the women. They had no weapons, no phones, and no media coverage.

Standing chest-to-chest against men with guns and axes, she declared:
"Brothers, this forest is our mother’s home. If you want to cut these trees, you will have to cut us first."

They hugged the trees all night long. By morning, the contractors surrendered. The women had won.

History often belongs to those who write it, but the forest belongs to those who protect it. Today, let’s remember the true mothers of the Chipko Movement. 🌿
