In villages people’s main source of income is through agriculture, which is seasonal. Some months they don’t have work and hence don't earn any money. Looking at this situation, an idea came in my mind to provide work to women in villages. The idea was to provide such work that they can easily do, they don’t have to spend money for that, can do from home, and don't need electricity or water. The
idea of Happy Village- Godhadi Project came in mind as most woman in villages stitch Godhadi for their personal use. Godhadi stitching is an art & these women are quite good in it. By providing proper training, and teaching them to polish their skills, Happy Village project has been able to make hundreds of beautiful light-weight godhadis that are suitable for urban lifestyle by providing single and bulk orders through personal orders & corporate companies. What started as a project for one village, has now spread to many villages. It is our constant effort to provide training to more and more villages and thus help in women empowerment. They make hand-made godhadis (light-weight quilts) from sarees, duppattas, or other fabrics. You can give your own material (your old saree or any fabric) to make these godhadis, and pay only for the making charges,
OR
You can buy ready-made godhadis! Please like, share, and promote this page and help us support these women!
