Welcome to Studio Itiha’s very first offline workshop in Paud, Mulshi–Pune — an immersive introduction to the world of Indigo, the living blue.

In this workshop, we go beyond simply dyeing fabric. Together, we will explore the rich history and cultural significance of this remarkable dye, while learning the science and craft behind it.

This two-day hands-on experience is designed to help you understand the fundamentals of working with an indigo vat — from the different types of vats, to how to create one, maintain it, and even revive it when needed.

Learn dip dyeing and shibori techniques to create one of a kind patterns.

By the end of the workshop, you will feel confident enough to set up and work with your own indigo vat, while also learning which fibers respond best to indigo dyeing.

After a lot of contemplation, we're here with our first ever studio workshop! Summer is here and so is Indigo season, come deep dive with us into the living blue. In these two days you will learn:
-History and significance of Indigo.
-Make a reduction vat
-Maintaining the vat
-Reviving
-Dip dyeing and Shibori
-Pre and post treatment of fabrics

From a farmer to now a natural dye expert. Anita maushi is now equivalent to a master dyer and very well versed with the foliage that we use, how we use it and has also helped me host multiple workshops. She is bold, confident and also a really good speaker.
This was a small snippet from some time ago where I asked her to tell what we do. No script, no help, yet she speaks so well!
