Last Sunday I had arranged trek to Lohagad Fort.
It was a wonderful event. I have uploaded the photos of that trek. Please check them.
it was a small group as many of the trekkers dropped out at last minute and 3 couldn't make in time for the train.
Because of this we were one hour before the scheduled time and hence could explore entire fort at leisure . We saw laxmi kothi, vinchu kata, 16 and 8 sided tanks, lots of canons. We also saw a chor darwaja and beautiful back waters of Pawana dam.
We saw the Visapur, Tung and Tikona fort from here. We saw Valvan dam and Tungarli dam from Vinchu kata.
Since the building of road upto Lohagad, there are lots of private properties cropping up at Lohagad and spoiling the beautiful landscape. A stone horse and a beautiful tree that were on road to Lohaga have vanished for building the road to these private properties.
The trek was wonderful, however the journey back to Malavali was tiresome.
I hope Lohagad is not commercialized like Sinhagad and it stays beautiful the way it is now. Or else, though the Britishers didn't ruin the fort, but we may ruin it.
