WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A SCULPTURE BECOMES SOMETHING YOU CAN WEAR?
For over a decade, and have shared parallel creative journeys. From showcasing together for close to a decade at Lakmé Fashion Week to standing alongside each other at the Vogue India Fashion Awards, the overlap between their worlds has always existed. Strangely, this is their first collaboration.
Inspired by the Sculptures from ‘He Who Permeates’, this limited-edition capsule collection begins with a simple idea: each garment is inspired by one of Jayesh Sachdev’s Sculptures. A sculpture becomes a silhouette. A pattern becomes embroidery. A painted surface reappears through layered appliqué, indigenous textiles and handcrafted detailing.
Rooted in a shared love for craftsmanship, storytelling and detail, the collection brings together Ka-Sha’s language of textile innovation and artisanal handwork with Jayesh Sachdev’s world of contemporary mythology, sculpture and visual culture.
Rather than adapting art into fashion, the collection extends the artworks beyond the gallery wall, transforming them into objects that can be worn, lived with and experienced as statement Art and conversation starters.
A conversation between art and fashion. Between mythology and modernity. Between two practices that have evolved alongside one another for years.
The Collection Launches on the Ka-Sha Website tomorrow at 7pm as a Limited 7 psc edition only.
