What if a textile could teach you more than a classroom ever could? 🌿

Our Textile Design students at SOFT Pune got hands-on with Dabu printing — a centuries-old natural resist technique from Rajasthan — guided by artisan Shri Om Prakash Chhippa Ji.

From preparing the mud resist to exploring vegetable dyes and natural colours, students lived the craft process start to finish.

But this wasn't just about technique. It was about learning directly from an artisan — feeling the patience, precision, and knowledge behind every handmade textile.

This is what our Craft Village at SOFT Pune is built for: a space where students step out of the classroom and into the world of the artisan, learning craft the way it's meant to be learned — by doing.

From nature, art and architecture to their everyday surroundings, students observed, sketched and analysed the world around them — transforming forms, lines, shapes and textures into original motifs of their own. 🎨✏️
