● Dye your own fabrics using natural indigo

📌 Workshop Guidelines
● Check-in time is 2:00 PM, and check-out time is 10:00 AM.
● Participants are strictly not permitted to bring their own fabric. All required fabric and materials will be provided during the workshop.
● Alcohol is strictly prohibited during the workshop hours.
● If a participant wishes to bring someone along for the hotel stay, it must be informed to us in advance and additional accommodation charges will apply.( Subject to availability )However, the accompanying person will strictly not be permitted to attend or enter the workshop sessions.

Curated by Vacation Hues Art Retreats, founded by Shubhra Chaturvedi, and led by the expert team at TaraiBlue, this residential workshop is designed for those who want to slow down, create, and reconnect with craft and nature.

Can you just mix indigo in water and dye fabric? 💧

It sounds simple… but indigo doesn’t work that way.
Unlike most dyes, indigo is insoluble in water—
which means it cannot directly attach to fabric fibers.

To make it dye-ready, indigo needs to go through a special process called reduction 🌿

In an alkaline vat, with the help of natural ingredients,
indigo is transformed into a soluble form (a yellow-green liquid).

This is the only stage where the dye can actually enter the fabric.

Once the fabric is taken out and exposed to air,
oxygen works its magic ✨

The indigo turns back into its original blue form—
now locked into the fibers 💙
