“Sing, Fly, Soar – Like a Bird!”
The theme of this year’s World Migratory Bird Day, international global campaign dedicated to raising awareness of migratory birds and the need to conserve them.
Birds can be found everywhere: in cities, countryside; in forests and mountains, in wetlands and along the shores. They connect all these habitats and they connect us, reminding us of our own connection to the planet, the environment, wildlife and each other. Through their seasonal movements, migratory birds are also regularly reminding us of nature’s cycles. As global ambassadors of nature, migratory birds not only connect different places across the planet, they also re-connect people to nature and to themselves like no other animals on the planet.
Migratory birds have continued to sing, fly and soar. During the pandemic, which slowed down & limited our movements, people across the world have been listening to and watching birds like never before. For many people around the world, bird song has also been a source of comfort and joy during the pandemic, connecting people to each other and to nature.

World Rhino day- A Day marked every year on 22 September to create awareness about the different kinds of Rhinoceros species as well as the dangers they face. The day also aims to celebrate all five species of Rhino including greater one-horned, Sumatran, black, white, and Javan Rhinos that are found in Africa and Asia.
With time, Rhinoceros’ have become critically endangered in the wild because people desire their unique horns. Their horns are in huge demand due to THE MYTH that they have therapeutic qualities which is why this species is on the verge of going extinct unless anything is done to save it.

Glimpse into labour of love
A gentle breeze led to roll over of the fabric to do a peak a boo of the wrong side of embroidery. And it gave a glimpse of the neatness of embroidery on the back side as well talking volumes of the craftsmenship of the women embroiderers we have hand picked & trained as our cluster.

Journey of Ornamentation starts-
From traced artwork on fabric it finally shapes up as ornamentation when women artisans painstakingly embroider the cotton threads focussing on artwork, their own mathematical count of the length of each embroidered stich & the gaps in between.
A beautiful form of surface ornamentation done by the women of Sawaimadhopur rendered with a contemporary twist & designs under our label SHILPA MADAAN for todays’ modern lifestyle.
