After receiving a design degree from New York School of Interior Designs and a degree in Fine Arts from Pace University New York, Tariq got involved with skilled artisans in Kashmir. He began mixing traditional weaves with contemporary patterns and went on to produce awesome collections of handmade rugs, fabrics and Kashmir pashmina shawls. Over the years, the company has grown through innovation and design, and supplied its products to stores like Bloomingdales, Ethan Allen, Saxony Carpet, and Stark in America; Galleria Lafayette in Paris; Corte Ingeles in Spain; Bijenkorf in Holland; and Stockmann in Finland, to name a few.Tariq has included Pashmina shawls in his design ventures and he provides you with an exotic pallet of colors to choose from. His beaded shawl collection is one of the finest available. Recently, since Tariq Kathwari's passing, his daughter Meral Kathwari has taken over the business to continue her father's legacy.
